Cardross hosted the rescheduled County Strokeplay and Seniors Championship today.
With the course in excellent condition, but playing long, several Cardross players had success around their home track.
The biggest winner for Cardross was Brian Doherty, who took the Seniors Championship with a solid scratch 74.
In the main Strokeplay Championship Chris Ruane was cruelly pipped on a countback, finishing second with a scratch 71. Both Chris and Brian qualified in the top 8 for the County Matchplay Championship which will be played early in the Spring. Both will fancy their chances in that format around Cardross, with Brian and Chris multiple times Cardross Matchplay Champions. Best of luck!
Cardross won the Wyllie Trophy awarded to the club returning the best three scratch scores. Darren Pearce added an excellent scratch 78 to Chris and Brian's scores to help us claim the trophy.
Darren's 78 for nett 70 helped him claim the handicap competition win. Well played Darren.
Stephen Mooney also claimed a win, taking the senior handicap prize. Well played Stephen.
